Deputies search for man who ran away after traffic stop

MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

McLennan County Sheriff's Deputies caught a man who fled from a traffic stop, that led to a manhunt Saturday night. 

Keith Brown, was arrested in Waco near LaSalle and 18th around 9 am Sunday.

Chief Deputy David Kilcrease said a deputy stopped a vehicle around 2 p.m. Saturday for a traffic violation at Loop 340 and Highway 6 near the Jack Harwell Detention Center.

While the deputy was talking to the subject, the man ran away into the wooded area nearby.

The Sheriff's Office had a helicopter circling the area and deputies on the ground looking for the man, but were unable to find him.

They called off their search around 5 p.m.
