Aggies Open SEC Tournament Wednesday versus Vanderbilt

HOOVER, Alabama – The No. 2 Texas A&M Aggies embark on their fourth SEC Baseball Tournament beginning Wednesday at 9:30 am. The Maroon and White face the No. 6 Vanderbilt Commodores who toppled the Missouri Tigers, 7-0, Tuesday morning at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

The Aggies are 4-4 all-time at the SEC Tournament. Last year was Texas A&M’s best showing at the tournament, advancing to the semifinals where they lost to Vanderbilt, 12-3.

Texas A&M closed out the regular-season with three series against squads in the Top 10. The Maroon and White went 6-3 in league play over the span, winning all three series 2-1. The Aggies toppled No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 9 South Carolina and No. 10 Ole Miss to wrap up conference action.

Andrew Vinson will take the mound for the Aggies in his third career start. In his last three outings, Vinson is 2-0 with one save, logging 12.1 scoreless innings with five hits and two walks while striking out 14 out of the bullpen in Texas A&M wins against Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Ole Miss.

Wednesday’s contest is set to air on the SEC Network. Clay Matvick (play-by-play) and Ben McDonald (color analyst) will be on the call. Every game of the SEC Tournament can be seen via the WatchESPN app with credentials required through respective cable providers.
