Limestone County Sheriffs are looking for help identifying the vandals who damaged a historic bell.
According to Limestone County Sheriff, Dennis Wilson, late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, a bell located at the Point Enterprise Community Center in Mexia was damaged.
In what Wilson calls ‘a despicable act,’ the frame and the bell were damaged in what they believe was an attempted theft.
The bell is of historic importance, crafted in 1856. Limestone County Sheriffs are asking anyone with information contact the sheriff’s office at 254-729-3278 or Crime Stoppers at 254-729-8477 (TIPS)
