Texas A&M and Vanderbilt Square Off in Top Five Clash

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 2 Texas A&M Aggies and No. 5 Vanderbilt Commodores meet in college baseball’s premier series of the weekend.

The Aggies have won 13 of their last 15, including winning five of six on the road. Vanderbilt enters the fray on a five-game win streak, including a series sweep of Georgia.

BOOMER WHITE ranks fourth in the nation in batting average (.437) and hits (76) heading into the series. HUNTER MELTON ranks seventh in the nation with 56 RBI. J.B. MOSS ranks 10th in the nation in runs with 52.

AUSTIN HOMAN enters the series with a 17-game hit streak, the longest of the season for the Aggies. Over the stretch he’s hitting .377 (23-for-61) with 12 runs, one double, seven RBI, three stolen bases and the game-winning hit in A&M’s 10-inning, 4-3 win against Alabama. White is on an 11-game hit streak, batting .511 (23-for-45) with 11 runs, six doubles, 11 RBI, six walks and a .566 on-base percentage over the span.

All three games are slated to be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks. Thursday’s game will air on ESPN2 while Friday’s and Saturday’s contests are set to air on the SEC Network. Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Chris Burke (color analyst) will be on the call. All three games can be seen via the WatchESPN app with credentials required through respective cable providers.
