Shooting Victim Drives to Hospital, Police Investigating

The Temple Police Department is investigating after a man with a gunshot wound drove up to the entrance of the Baylor Scott & White Hospital emergency room and collapsed after getting out of his car.

Officers responded to the hospital about 12:20 a.m. Friday. They found a gray Lincoln parked in front of the emergency room entrance with the driver's side door open. Police say the driver's side window was broken and there was blood on the driver's side of the car.

Witnesses told police that the male victim, who suffered significant injuries, drove up to the hospital entrance, got out of the car and immediately collapsed. He was rushed inside for treatment.

Police say the man had wounds to the head, face, and neck. The victim remains in the hospital as of Friday afternoon with significant injuries. His vehicle was impounded as evidence.
