Two Killeen men accused of killing an 11-foot-long alligator were arrested Friday by Texas Game Wardens.

Bradley Gillis, 26, and James Haff, 33, were arrested for taking wildlife resources without landowner consent.

On Wednesday, game wardens learned about the killing of that large alligator along the Lampasas River, above Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir.

Wardens used social media to ask the public for information about the killing, which helped them in the investigation.

State law requires that if a person wants to engage in alligator hunting, they must be licensed, have landowner permission and a tag must be purchased upon harvest.

Gillis and Haff remained in the Bell County Jail Friday night on $7,500 bond.
