The Bell County community is rallying around a 9-year-old girl who has been battling cancer for four years.

Lizzy Greer, from Millican, Texas, was diagnosed with stage four Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) cancer when she was 5. She was recently released from treatment to be at home for hospice care.

On Wednesday, the Troy Softball Team threw a fundraiser selling sausage wrap plates for Lizzy and her family.

Danny McDonald, who does benefit work for children in the community, said he is working to hire a limo service to take Lizzy, her mother and her brother to a steakhouse in Belton and then spend the day getting a spa treatment in Georgetown. The day will be donated by Brody's Steakhouse and Renew Med Spa.

"To show her that we love her and care about her, and just want her to be happy for the time that we have left," said Kacey Greer, Lizzy's mom.

On Saturday, the Temple Applebee's will be hosting a Flapjack Fundraiser to support Lizzy and her family. Tickets are $10 and the event will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

"Everybody is being very very supportive, and everybody is they're donating food. We got a hotel donated. It's all very very great, and we're very appreciative," said Kacey.

GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with costs.

Community members have been donating her favorite things, unicorns and mermaids. If you're interested, contact McDonald at 254-541-1030.
