Harmony Science Academy-Waco kicked off a campaign to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on Tuesday.
The school will be participating in the Pennies for Patients coin drive campaign. Andy Hernandez, a Harmony Science Academy sixth grader, who is battling leukemia is the school’s honorary hero.
Hernandez, 11, was diagnosed with cancer last year and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The school will start raising funds on Feb. 4. The money will go toward blood cancer research.
