Patients demanding answers after Little River Healthcare facilities abruptly closed Dec. 5. The healthcare giant filed for chapter seven bankruptcy in November.

Patients are asked to retrieve their medical records by going to the facility during limited hours. They will fill out a form for submission and must wait from one to two weeks for their file to be ready for retrieval. The clinic says in some cases it may be sooner.

“We knew nothing about it at all. It was all sporadic, in fact, I had an appointment coming up myself,” said Bonnie Young, a faithful patient for twenty years. She says she was stunned by the sudden closure.

“Saw it for the first time on Facebook. It was just challenging. And you call and you get a recording and it goes and goes,” said Young. She wants to know where her doctor will be going next.

“It’s scary because when you’ve seen the same person for so many years. They know your ins and outs,” she said.

The Temple facility will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Patients should bring their drivers license. When the records are ready, the patient should receive a call.
