The Temple Police Department investigated possible hazardous materials in a vehicle in the emergency room parking lot at Baylor Scott & White Hospital on Wednesday.
Officers received the call at 8:13 a.m. from the Baylor Scott & White security team about the suspicious materials in a gray BMW X3.
A hazmat team from the Department of Public Safety was called to the scene to dispose of the material. Temple firefighters also responded.
"The entire time we've just been able to assess the scene in that specific area and allow the order of the hospital to continue," Temple Police Department Media Relations Specialist Ellen Morton said.
The scene was cleared by 1 p.m. Police said the material will be processed in a DPS lab in Waco.
There was no threat to the public, police said.
The investigation remains active pending lab results.
