Reports circulating on social media of an active shooter on Fort Hood are reportedly false.

Officials on Fort Hood have said that the incident on Thursday afternoon was a false alarm.

Police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of an active shooter in a building on post.

Officials report that the incident was caused by "an internal alarm" heard.

Fort Hood said that the building alarm had been "inadvertently activated." It was reset.

No active shooter on base, according to Fort Hood spox.
