Fire spreads from car to nearby grass

MCGREGOR, TX (KXXV) -

Crews are battling a grass fire that originated when a car caught on fire. 

Officials on scene said it began when the brakes gave out and the car caught on fire southbound on Highway 317. 

The fire spread into the nearby grass and came close to a home. 

As of 5:25 p.m., the fire was contained.
