A random act of kindness from a Zaxby’s employee in Temple on July 2 was thanked in return a week later.

According to the Facebook posts, Chelsea Lyons paid for deputy Marco Villarreal and Mike and Cindy Lewis, the senior pastor and wife of Faith Baptist Church, meals. She said she bought his food because she truly does appreciate his service. It was her goal to make Officer Villarreal happy in that moment.

Officer Villarreal thanked her for being kind and urged other law enforcement officers to stop by and say hello to Lyons.

A week later, Deputy Villarreal came back to Zaxby’s and handed Lyons an envelope telling her, “Hey Chelsea, never lose this, no matter what never lose it.” The envelope contained an emotional letter and $100.

In the letter, Villarreal said, “The world needs more people like you.”

Lyons said she burst into tears after reading the letter.
