5 arrested after multiple shootings in Falls County

Five people have been arrested after multiple shooting incidents in the Falls County area on Saturday night.

The Falls County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a home in Chilton where residents reported a drive-by shooting. The victims were able to give a description of the suspect vehicle. Deputies searched the area with Texas Game Wardens, Texas Department of Public Safety and Lott police.

While deputies were searching the home for evidence, the suspects returned and began firing at the home again.

The sheriff's office said there were two other reports of shots fired in the area on Saturday. An 18-wheeler that was traveling on State Highway 7 was struck by gunfire.

Deputies pulled over a car between Chilton and Golinda and arrested four of the suspects. A stolen gun that deputies believe were involved in the shootings was found. 

One suspect ran from a house in Golinda was chased by law enforcement before they were arrested.

The five arrested were identified as 19-year-old Michael Barrientos, 20-year-old Luis Barrientos, 21-year-old Lucas Benson, 37-year-old Roman Salas and 17-year-old Michael Weaver.

The Sheriff's Office said they will continue to investigate the incident. Further arrests are anticipated.

No one was injured during the shootings.
