A crime stopper tip lead to the arrest of the suspect who killed a bicyclist in a hit-and-run accident on June 15.

According to the Waco Police Department, Jason Davis was arrested on Wednesday and was charged with failure to stop and render aid, a second-degree felony.

The Waco Police Accident Crash Reconstruction Detective found the vehicle and the suspect involved due to a crime stopper tip. With the help of the tip, officers were able to conduct a thorough investigation and arrest Davis in the deadly criminal accident.

Officers identified the bicyclist as, Ricky Wilkerson of Waco.

According to Waco Police, the crash was at Waco Drive and 15th Street. At about 5:30 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the location. 

Witnesses stated the car was a smoke gray 2007-2014 GMC Silverado. The vehicle struck the bicyclist and fled the scene. Waco Police said the vehicle will have a missing side mirror.

Wilkerson died from his injuries Saturday morning.
