McLennan Community College baseball players Josh Breaux and Logan Freeman have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The awards recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Breaux and Freeman were named to the College Division District 4 First Team comprised of athletes from all NAIA, Canadian and two-year colleges in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot with first- and second-team honorees to be announced in June.

Breaux, a sophomore catcher/designated hitter from Tomball, has a 3.45 grade-point average. He has appeared in 51 games for the Highlanders, spending time at catcher, designated hitter and pitcher. He leads the squad with a .398 batting average with 15 home runs, 61 RBIs, 52 runs and 42 walks.

Freeman, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Buffalo, has a 3.91 grade-point average. He has made 13 appearances on the mound for the Highlanders with 11 starts and has a 3-1 record. He has a 6.70 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 44.1 innings.
