A Waco daycare has self-reported an incident to Child Protective Services, who has confirmed the department is investigating the incident.

Candy Cane Corner, located at 9901 Panther Way, said on social media at that they had received concerns about a child who had received a bite to the face. The daycare said it was from another child.

The viral post, from parent Ciara Booth, shows images of her daughter with several bite marks and a presumed diaper rash. Booth said that her daughter had a total of six bite marks and a diaper rash that extended down her leg. Booth also said that a doctor who examined the child said the bite mark was the size of a potential adult bite mark.

The daycare said that the bite mark had come from another child, who they believe bit down twice.

"I understand that a post like the ones that were posted today is alarming, but I am confident in my staff and Child Care Licensing that this issue will be resolved," said the daycare.
