DPS identifies woman who died after two-vehicle accident in Axtell

One woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Axtell on Saturday night. 

The Texas Department of Public of Safety said the accident happened on Highway 31 near Whiskey Hill Lane. 

The investigation determined a Ford F150 was traveling westbound on the wrong side of the road when it crashed into a Chevrolet SUV that was traveling eastbound. 

 The driver of the Chevrolet identified as 33-year-old Melissa Rose died at the scene. 

The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
