The Killeen Independent School District held its first ever district-wide graduating job fair for high school seniors on Wednesday.
The job fair occurred on at the Killeen Civic Conference Center on April 25th at 10 a.m.
Career and Technical Education program seniors who are finishing industry level certifications including phlebotomy, pharmacy and cosmetology, will have the unique opportunity to use their training in real jobs right after graduation.
“This is the first time Killeen ISD has hosted a district-wide job fair for graduating seniors and we are proud to promote employment of our outstanding students,” Killeen ISD Superintendent John Craft said.
The school district partnered with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce, and Army Child and Youth Services of Fort Hood.
More than 40 organizations looking for high school graduates attended the fair. Students were able to fill out job applications on the spot.
While the job fair was mainly focused on seniors graduating from the Career and Technical Education programs, all KISD graduating seniors were invited.
