A Bell County Justice of the Peace, who set a $4 billion bond for a murder suspect, was publicly reprimanded Thursday.

The State Commission of Judicial Conduct released the reprimand on their website and stated that Judge Claudia Brown had failed to comply with the law, failed to be patient and conduct indicated she was swayed by partisan interests, public clamor, or fear of criticism in setting the $4 billion bond for suspect Antonio Willis. The commission also stated that in setting the bond for her son, Kevin Anton Davis, her judicial office advanced his public interests

Judge Brown must take part in two hours of instruction in the area of registration with a mentor.
