Baylor soccer (10-5-2, 4-4-1 Big 12) placed 17 student-athletes on the 2017 Academic All-Big 12 Soccer team, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

The 17 total selections, all of which were first teamers, set a new program record and led the Big 12 in 2017.

Precious Akanyirige, Kennedy Brown, Jackie Crowther, Delanie Davis, Aline De Lima, Julie James, Sarah King, Marissa Kinsey, Ariel Leach, Lauren O’Connell, Raegan Padgett, Hannah Parrish, Kylie Ross, Caitlin Schwartz, Halee Sowinski, Ashley Thornhill, and Camryn Wendlandt all earned the academic honors for BU.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests.
