A 17-year-old is in jail after he was seen kicking a 12-year-old in the groin on the way to school in early October.
The victim reported the incident to Temple police officers and identified the teen as Devyn Metty.
Video from the school bus was obtained showing Metty kicking the victim and the victim dropping to the floor of the bus in pain. Metty was seen demonstrating how he lifted his foot in a sidekicking motion while the victim is still curled up on the floor of the bus.
During an interview, Metty told officers he did not kick the victim on purpose, but that he raised his foot up to stop the victim from exiting the bus.
Metty was arrested and charged with injury to a child, reckless bodily injury, a state jail felony, on Oct. 25. His bond has been set at $7,500.
