Man arrested for aggravated robbery of 7-11

Waco police arrested a man after he robbed a 7-11 and fled to a nearby apartment complex on Sunday morning. 

Waco police said they and arrived at the 7-11 at 701 S. University Parks Dr. to find 53-year-old Mack Johnson robbing the store around 2:50 a.m.

It was determined Johnson entered wearing a mask and acting as if he had a gun. Police said he behind the register and ordered the clerk to open the register and demanded money. Johnson took two packs of cigarettes.

When police arrived, Johnson fled out the back door and began to lead officers on a chase on foot. He was seen running several blocks away and spotted in the parking lot of the Premier ER. 

Johnson jumped a fence into the Abbey Glen Apartment complex where officers were able to capture and arrest him. He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery. 

Baylor University officers assisted in the incident. 

Waco police said there were two clerks inside the 7-11 during the incident and were not injured.
