The ninth annual Waco Triathlon is happening this weekend and organizers are asking for your help.

This year, 850 people are expected to race, which sets a record for the most participants ever for TriWaco.

With that many racers, the need for volunteers to do things like direct racers and hand out water is even greater.

TriWaco organizers say they can never have enough help with the event.

"Volunteers and event work are angels from heaven.  So we can never have too many volunteers to help guide the participants where they're going.  Just help us do so many different things from helping with the swim course to the bike course to the run course," Frank Cortese, Owner of TriNow Endurance, said.

There are both Sprint and Olympic Tri courses available.

The TriWaco Triathlon kicks off Sunday, July 23 at 7 a.m. at Indian Spring Park.
