It's day one of a 30-day special session call by Governor Greg Abbott at the state capital in Austin. Lawmakers have roughly 20 agenda items to get through and although we don't know the order of those items we do know they will be starting with the Sunset Bill.
"At the end of the regular session as a part of a standoff between the house and the senate of the so called "bathroom bill" the Sunset Bill that would reauthorize the Texas medical board got caught up and did not pass," The Texas Tribune Reporter, Morgan Smith said.
The Sunset Bill remaining in limbo would result in doctors being allowed to practice in Texas without a medical license.
