An accident on Interstate 14 U.S. Highway 190 has backed up traffic.
All three lanes of the westbound side were shut down.
The accident happened on I-14 and the Jasper Road overpass at 12:13 p.m.
Killeen police officers determined that a construction excavator was being hauled by a tractor trailer traveling westbound and struck the underside of the Jasper Road overpass.
Several pieces of concrete fell onto the road.
Vehicles are being detoured to the Trimmier Street exit in Killeen.
Concrete from the bridge fell on a minivan and no cars were allowed on the bridge due to safety concerns.
The accident is causing traffic backup near Nolan Middle School and Bellaire Elementary.
As of 6 p.m., the interstate is back open.
