Sheriff's office investigating early-morning murder

MEXIA, TX (KXXV) -

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early-morning shooting that left one man dead.

Deputies were called to the scene in the 3400 block of North FM 39 in Mexia just after 5:15 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, they found Dequincy Demond Dunn with a gunshot wound.

Dunn was taken to the Parkview emergency room where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been ordered, and an investigation involving the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers is underway.

Anyone with information related to this homicide is asked to call the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office at 254-729-3278.
