The Vela family drove roughly five and a half hours to Killeen from Monahans, Texas this weekend to pick up their son, 4-year-old Jett’s dirt bike for a  birthday present.

The customized black 50 C-C dirt bike seemed be a steal for the Vela family.

"We just would like to have the bike back," Jett's mother, Sierra Vela said.

And apparently for someone else.

"We decided to eat at Outback in Killeen strapped it down in the back of the truck and we did have it locked... we were inside Outback for an hour and when we came back the bike was gone," Vela added.

Vela says not only was the bike stolen, but so was a precious memory.

"I have my own motorcycle and so does my husband and we both have them customized the same so his bike was going to look just like mine and my husband," Vela said.

Vela says the manager told her he would review the footage and turn it in to the Killeen Police Department, but for now..

"It's just a waiting game at this point, hopefully somebody has some information," Vela said.
