18-wheeler fire caused heavy delays on I-35 southbound near Troy

An 18-wheeler that was on fire early Saturday morning caused heavy delays near Troy on I-35 going southbound close to exit 312.

The fire was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m.

Troy Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Jimmy Jackson said the driver was not hurt and will be okay.

The FedEx truck fire caused heavy delays in the Troy area.

TxDOT said the scene was cleared around 9 a.m.

No word on what caused the 18-wheeler to catch on fire.
