Student admission application causes call to bomb squad

A suspicious package that evacuated a Texas A&M College Station building was holding an application from a prospective student to the university. 

According to Texas A&M, a report of a suspicious package came at approximately 10:20 a.m. Thursday. 

The package was delivered to the Admissions Office. The package had wires and a note that read "flip switch." 

The University Police Department responded to the area and evacuated the building.

The College Station Police Department Bomb Squad arrived on scene. The CSPD Bomb Squad utilized a robotic device to remove the package from the building and a water cannon rendered it safe. 

UPD investigators were able to contact the person who sent the package. The person told investigators the package was a a battery-operated light set and was designed to draw attention to the admissions application inside.
