The standoff in Killeen has ended.
The area around 4400 Lake Road is reopening after SWAT and Killeen Police closed off the area for four hours.
Killeen Police and SWAT had been trying to negotiate with a man who has barricaded himself inside of an apartment.
Officers received a call just after 4 pm Sunday about a domestic disturbance involving shots fired at the 4400 block of Lake Road.
Police say that they had been responding to a fight at the home and shots fired.
When police tried to enter the home, the man was threatening officers.
Police were able to make entry into the home at 9:15 p.m. where they found the subject dead.
Police have notified the next of kin, but have not released the name of the subject.
