Harker Heights police released the name of the victim from an August hit-and-run and believe they have the suspect in custody.
16-year-old Parker Vasquez died less than 24 hours after he was hit.
On Aug. 19 at 5:30 a.m. police responded to the 600 block of East Central Texas Expressway. They were told a dark colored SUV hit two people crossing the road then took off.
Vasquez and the other victim were taken to Scott and White in Temple. Vasquez passed away in the late afternoon, and the other victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
On Aug. 22 police stopped and seized the suspect's SUV. The suspect was taken into custody, but investigators have not released his or her name.
