Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump's campaign trip to a very red state like Texas Tuesday is "strange" according to a political analyst interviewed by News Channel 25.

"What's odd is that he's spending an evening this close to Election Day on a public rally in a state that he's going to win," Edward Getterman said, a former district director for Congressman Bill Flores and a 2002 Baylor University graduate.

Getterman said it's common for candidates to visit easy-win states to raise money, but to actually hold a campaign rally like Trump is doing in Austin Tuesday night is out of the ordinary. He has a theory as to the nominee's motivation.

"What most people inside the campaign will tell you is that Donald Trump hates raising money. He likes doing rallies because the response he gets from the rallies boosts his confidence - makes him feel good about himself," Getterman said.

Getterman offers this advice for Trump: "He needs to win battleground states. He needs to win Florida, Ohio, North Carolina. He's currently losing all those states. If it were up to me he'd be spending every waking hour of his life in those states. So you know we'll see. Right now the reality is there is no way to know what's going on."
