A man was arrested for assaulting a Lampasas Sheriff's Deputy Saturday morning.
Lampasas County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the 300 block of CR 4744 in Lampasas County around 9:00 a.m. about a suicidal man who was threatening friends and family with a gun and was threatening to take his own life.
Deputies arrived to find a 78-year-old male with a gun in the front yard of his residence.
After a brief stand-off with deputies, the man barricaded himself inside of his home.
After about two hours, deputies saw the man outside in the backyard. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
He was taken to Rollins Brook Hospital for a medical evaluation and was transferred to the Lampasas county Jail.
The man is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.
