Saturday some community members hosted a fundraiser after a Killeen couple was diagnosed with cancer two weeks apart.

The fundraiser took place at the Lan Exchange Abstract & Tile in Killeen, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Community members were able to bring their families out to enjoy food, a bounce house, a silent auction, and a car wash.

Glenda Del Rosario is a close friends with the couple and she said they were both diagnosed last April. Del Rosario  said even though they have insurance their medical expenses out of pocket are more than $100,000.

"I can't even put it in words how important it is to me to make this so much easier for them than it is. I can't even imagine that a husband and wife would be diagnosed with cancer, with four children, said Del Rosario.

Del Rosario also said the will be many other fundraisers in the near future. Two of the next events will be hosted at Sam's Club in Harker-Heights on July 30th and August 13th.
