A former Killeen Police Department Sergeant was arrested today in connection to a sexual assault investigation involving one of its officers.

In December 2015, Killeen PD were notified of a possible sexual assault involving former officer Christopher Rennick Morris.

During the investigation, it was determined that Sergeant Macaire Morrissey was untruthful to investigators and that impeded the sexual assault investigation. Morrissey was charged with False Report to a Peace Officer.

Morrissey was placed on administrative leave while a separate criminal investigation was initiated. His employment was terminated on June 6 on the grounds of multiple violations of departmental general orders and violation of Local Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

KPD detectives obtained an arrest warrant and Morrissey turned himself into the Travis County Sherriff’s Department on June 22.

This a pending investigation.
