Woman charged with sexual assault of a child after victim contracts STDs

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

An 18-year-old woman who police said admitted having sex with a child under the age of 15 now faces a sexual assault of a child charge.

Officers arrested Dasha Carter after a doctor reported the relationship to police.

The doctor found out about the relationship after the boy came to his office needing a medical treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.

According to the arrest affidavit, the victim was diagnosed with gonorrhea and chlamydia. During a forensic interviewing with the victim, he said had sex with Carter on March 15 at a Waco home. Waco Police said at his age, the victim can't legally consent to sex.

Carter admitted to police he had sex with the victim and said she was also treated for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis, according to the arrest affidavit.
