On Thursday night, search efforts continued to find six soldiers who went missing after their tactical vehicle overturned at the Owl Creek Tactical low-water crossing and East Range Road on Thursday morning. Five soldiers were found and confirmed deceased at Fort Hood.

In the past 12 years, several major incidents have impacted the post.

Last November, four crew members died after the UH-60L helicopter aircraft crashed in the northeast portion on the Fort Hood Range.

In 2014, a soldier opened fire on post, killing three people and injuring sixteen before he committed suicide.

Five years earlier, Major Nidal Hassan opened fire at the Soldier Readiness Center. He killed 13 people and wounded 32 others.

In 2004, a Fort Hood helicopter crashed into a TV tower killing seven crew members.
