Baylor Men’s Golf Climbs to Sixth at Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas – Baylor men’s golf carded a 7-under-par 281 third round at the 2016 Big 12 Championship to climb one spot into sixth place at 26-over-par 890 heading to Sunday’s final round at Whispering Pines Golf Club.

Freshman Braden Bailey was 1-under 71 on the day and leads the team at 4-over-par 220 to remain tied for 12th place individually. Bailey is 10 strokes back of the tournament’s individual leader, TCU’s Paul Barjon (-6, 210).

Matthew Perrine carded a 2-under-par 70 third-round score to climb eight spots to a tie for 17th place at 6-over 222. Andreas Gjesteby is tied for 23rd place at 9-over 225 after shooting even-par 72 on the day. Hunter Shattuck is at 11-over 227 through 54 holes and tied for 29th place after carding a 1-over 73 third-round score. Frederik Andersen (+17, 233) shot 2-under 70 on the day to climb two spots and is tied for 44th place.

Texas (+1) leads the field by seven strokes, with Oklahoma State (+8) trailing in second place. Texas Tech (+10) is in third, followed by Oklahoma (+21), TCU (+25), Baylor (+26), Kansas State (+29), Kansas (+41), Iowa State (+45) and West Virginia (+50).
