Highlassies come up short in Temple

The McLennan Highlassies dropped both games of today's conference doubleheader with the Temple Lady Leopards in Temple.

The Lady Leopards defeated the Highlassies 2-1 in game one with Kayleigh Williams taking the loss in the circle. 

Both of Temple's runs came in the bottom of the first. Addie Vayas and Casey Ingram drew back-to-back walks to lead off the game. Both runners scored on a double by Stephanie Marmolejo.

McLennan's only run came in the top of the third as Dariann Resendez walked, stole second and came around to score on a single by Theresa Gonzales.

Temple shut out the Highlassies 5-0 in the night cap with Chanlynn Turner taking the loss in the circle.

The Lady Leopards scored two runs in the third as Vayas and Ingram both singled and scored on a double by Jacquelin Chapa. 

Temple rounded out the scoring with three runs in the sixth. Chapa and Marmolejo both singled and scored on a home run by Sara Ralston.
