UPDATE: Police say the man taken into custody following the suspected fatal shooting of Latisha Ann Hutton has been released pending a decision from the Bell County grand jury.
The investigation was given to the Bell County District Attorney's Office, who will present the case to the grand jury. The identity of the man taken into custody has still not been released.
Police have a man in custody and charges are pending for him after a woman was found dead of a suspected gunshot wound Monday morning.
Just before 10 a.m. Monday, Harker Heights PD officers were called for a violent domestic assault in the 300 block of Jeff Gordon Dr.
Responding officers found Latisha Ann Hutton dead with a single gunshot wound. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
A male suspect is in police custody, and police say charges are pending at this time.
Police are continuing to investigate this shooting.
