Texas Game Wardens are currently investigating the death of a massive 11-foot alligator from the river above Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir.

According to the Texas Parks &Wildlife Department, alligators have been in the Lampasas River above Stillhouse Hollow Lake for many years. The agency has not received any reports of dangerous interactions between the public and local livestock.

Under state law, an alligator hunter must be licensed and have permission from the adjacent landowner. In addition, the hunter must buy a tag upon harvest of the alligator.

The alligator must be hunted during April 1 and June 30, which is the open hunting season.
