Friends and family gather to honor fallen firefighter

WEST, TX (KXXV) -

Friends and family of Joey Pustejovsky gathered at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption on Friday for his funeral. 29-year-old Pustejovsky was one of the firefighters killed in the West fertilizer explosion.

He was the secretary for the town of West since 2009, and had worked as a personal property appraiser for McLennan County Appraisal District.

Pustejovsky was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where he started the youth ministry and directed the Catholic Brothers and Sisters United Youth Ministry for two years.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
