MEXIA, TX — A man's body was found Friday afternoon after a postal service employee reported a "foul odor" coming from a Mexia home.

Around 1 p.m. on October 30, Mexia Police and Fire Department personnel were called out to a home in the 300 block of South Ross Street after a United States Postal Service employee reported a foul odor coming from the home.

When officers arrived, they located a deceased man.

The victim was identified as 35-year-old Charles Robert Carter of Mexia.
