Seven-year-old Jacob was timid and shy when he first arrived to Jump-N-Place in Waco to have an afternoon of fun.
But within minutes his walls came down and he had a day he'll always remember.
"7!" said Jacob when KXXV Anchor Lindsay Liepman asked him old he is.
His voice is small, but his spirit is mighty.
"It's critically important for us to find a family for Jacob and we'd love to find a family for him while he's young so he can have as much time in his life with the people that will adopt him and love him," said CPS Adoption Caseworker Amanda Apperley.
Apperley tells us he's been in the system for a long time and he just wants forever to start today.
"So in a lot of ways, he's just like any other 7-year-old. He just wants a family that will love him and will make him their own and have fun with him," said Apperley.
He was curious about our camera and photojournalist Kendall Green let him push a few buttons. Jacob was a natural. In his world, there are constant changes but today he was in control.
"You did a good job, high five!" said Liepman as she and Jacob clapped hands together.
A nurturing family he can trust is what Jacob wants but more than anything he wants to love you and be loved in return.
"Can I tell you something?" asked Liepman.
"Yeah," said Jacob.
"I love you," said Liepman.
Jacob jumped in Liepman's arms and they held a long hug.
