The Freeport Police Department purchased a new a/c unit for a local citizen Tuesday afternoon.

With temperatures in the 90’s this past week, the entire staff helped out - including Mayor Troy Brimage and Code of Enforcement Supervisor Billy Shoemaker.

The chief of police said he was proud of his team for helping one of their citizens in his time of need; he’s one proud chief.
