HILL COUNTY, TX — Officials said two men are safe after their Kayaks flipped over on Nolan River on Thursday.

On Thursday, two men from Rio Vista went kayaking, starting at Mustang Creek. When they reached Nolan River, their kayaks tipped over, and they were rushed down the river.

One man was able to get out of the river, but the water continued to push his friend down. The man went looking for his friend and alerted authorities that he was still missing Friday morning.

Multiple agencies from multiple counties responded to help find the missing kayaker. A helicopter from Grandbury also was used in the search.

They later learned the missing kayaker was pushed down the river for another mile before he was able to get out. He then started walking all night until he reached his friend's house.
