COPPERAS COVE, TX — The use of personal protective equipment such as gloves and face masks has been on the rise recently to help protect people from Coronavirus. However, the rise of gloves and face masks also brings concerns of littering.

One Copperas Cove resident shared a photo of an H-E-B parking lot that was littered with blue gloves.

"Be considerate of other people not just yourself. This is not the time to be selfish," Sidney Dunagan said.

While it's good to know people are taking safety precautions seriously to protect themselves and others in public, some residents haven't been disposing of their personal protective equipment correctly.

The proper disposal of gloves or face masks in trash cans ensures the safety of employees that clean the parking lot and have to pick up the trash throughout the day, putting their own health at risk.
