Central Texas radio station hosts virtual prom

If your high school senior dreamed of becoming the prom king or queen, there's still a chance.

The nationwide trend of virtual proms is coming to Central Texas.

Central Texas seniors already making prom memories at home. One couple dined in the backyard and another teenager's Dad and Grandpa were her dance partners at their homemade prom.

Now radio station 94.5 The Beat will host a virtual prom Saturday.

"Something to bring them all together. They can still get dressed up. Have a good time and we will be rewarding a king and queen and that's for all schools in Central Texas," said Mary Jane Evans.

The Queen of the Co and Host of the virtual prom Mary Jane Evans says it will be a night with live music and seniors are encouraged to send in videos of their best dance moves ahead of time to the 94.5 The Beat Facebook Page.

Tag your school, the radio station and use the #945virtualprom for a chance to win prizes.

"Saturday starting at 7 p.m., I'll be hosting and The Beat DJs will be live until midnight playing your favorite songs," said Mary Jane.

There will be lots of shout outs but the biggest of all...

"Shout out to all the seniors. We love and we support you. We love you guys and we want to give you something to hold on to and have a memory of," said Mary Jane.
