WACO, TX — On Tuesday night, a program that provides pregnancy and parenting support to first-time mothers honored six of them.

The Nurse Family Partnership, a free community healthcare program of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Hillcrest, hosted a banquet during which six first-time mothers received mother of the year awards.

As part of the program, nurses visit first-time moms and give them information about prenatal care, parenting skills and future goals.

"It would've been a lot more stressful. There would've been more sleepless nights. NFP has been very good at instilling confidence in me in my parenting journey," Frazier said.
